HUMBOLDT — A fundraiser for the Lezlie and Michael Gean family will be at Opie’s restaurant Wednesday.
A portion of sales from 4 to 8:30 p.m. will be contributed to the family.
Also, Monday through Friday a number of things, including two tickets to the KU-Baylor basketball game on Jan. 20, will be offered through a silent auction at City Hall. Brent and Miranda Weilert donated the tickets.
Among other auction items are baskets featuring local merchandise. City Hall is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for viewing and bidding.
Cindy Jaro and other members of the HHS class of 1994, of which Lezlie was a member, have organized the fundraiser. Humboldt journalism and FFA students will wait tables and otherwise help at Opie’s.
A third opportunity for benevolence is a bank account opened in the name of Lezlie and Michael Gean’s children at Humboldt’s Community National Bank.
