GAS — The Register’s report Wednesday of costs for the new walking trail in Fees Park was inaccurate.
The trail, which will be surfaced with material containing recycled vehicle tires, has a total cost of $43,088. Half — $21,544 — is Gas’ responsibility. The city will spend $11,044 in cash and meet the remainder of its obligation, $10,500, through in-kind contributions of labor and equipment.
The four-foot-wide trail will be a quarter of a mile long.
Steve Robb, city superintendent, told councilmen Tuesday evening drainage features to support the trail were being completed, as was the base for the trail.
