The Bowlus Fine Arts Center will cap the ongoing Iola Reads campaign Saturday with a retelling of Mary Shelleys Frankenstein.
Years ahead of its time, the story has since become the inspiration for countless film and stage adaptations. Frankenstein is a living, breathing, gruesome outcome of scientific discovery. The piece raises an important universal question about the nature of innovation just because it can be done, should it be done?
The story follows Victor Frankenstein, a Swiss scientist intent on creating an artificial human. He succeeds, but also must deal with the consequences.
Tickets are still available for Saturdays show.
Adult orchestra tickets sell for $21.75. Balcony seats sell for $18.49. Student tickets are half price at both levels.
Tickets can be purchased online at bowluscenter.org, or at the box office.
