Former Allen County Sheriff Ron Moore and his wife, Carolyn, remained hospitalized today following a motorcycle accident in northwest Arkansas Sunday.

Sherri Barclay, who works for the Moores at Iola Office Supply, told the Register the accident happened while the two were sight-seeing near Rogers, Ark.

“Apparently, they were traveling along a highway when a car pulled out in front of them,” Barclay said.

The Moores were taken to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, after Ron suffered possible broken vertebrae in his back. He also has a possible kidney injury and bleeding in his lungs.

Carolyn Moore is being treated for a leg injury, Barclay said.

They had been in Branson, Mo., for a benefit ride for the Five-O Motorcycle Club — an organization that serves fallen emergency responders — and were on their way back to their home in Humboldt.

“Ron likes to take his own way back home, and they were just doing some sight-seeing,” Barclay said.

The Moores’ daughter, Shannon, is Woodson County Sheriff.
