CHANUTE — Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed the the mobile home, the last known residence of a Chanute woman who has been missing since Dec. 15.
The Chanute Tribune reported a fire destroyed the home at 1120 N. Grant early Tuesday.
The property, owned by Robert Kauffman, was the last known residence of Marissa Craft, who was reported missing in December. Utilities had been disconnected, the newspaper reported.
Craft, 39, was last seen Dec. 15, leaving the home she shared with her boyfriend. Craft is listed at 5-2 and weighs 125 pounds, with blonde hair and hazel eyes.
The Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office and Chanute Police Department are investigating the Grant fire.
