The Chipper Experience is exactly that: An experience.
“Chipper is a wonderful magician and hilarious comedian. It’s hard to do one individually, and he does them both well,” Dan Kays, director of the Bowlus Fine Arts Center, said.
Chipper Lowell will bring his experience to the Bowlus at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Lowell is a two-time “Comedy Magician of the Year.” His performances are a high-energy blend of original, cutting-edge magic, hilarious one-liners, and a roller-coaster of rapid-fire ad libs and razor-sharp wit.
“He’s been all over the world,” Kays said. “In his early years, Chipper was on Jay Leno quite a bit. He’s been on Comedy Central and Masters of Illusion. People will recognize him.”
The show includes quite a bit of audience engagement and is family-friendly, Kays said.
“Chipper is a great guy. He’s very humble. I enjoyed meeting him in New York earlier this year and was able to see him live. This fits our community because he appeals to all ages,” Kays said.
He talked about the challenges of bringing audiences back to watching live performing arts shows after the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I want people to understand the quality of what’s coming to the Bowlus for the value of the ticket,” he said. “Even if you don’t know what the show is about, I promise it’s worth taking a chance. You’ll have a good time.”
Tickets are still available at bowluscenter.org
