Carnival fans may get their wish after all with the upcoming Farm-City Days.
Committee members hope to have a contract signed soon to bring a carnival for the Oct. 14-17 celebration.
The carnival has been a part of past celebrations, but an agreement to find one for 2021 had fallen through, leading committee members to announce earlier this year that the carnival was a no-go.
But another amusement company has been found.
Committee member Aaron Franklin said a contract had yet to be signed, but was optimistic an agreement would be reached.
The news on the carnival broke at Monday’s Iola City Council meeting.
The city, as it has in years past, said it would relax its curfew rules at Riverside Park to allow carnival workers to bunk there overnight before and during the celebration.
