Dillon Carmichael

Dillon Carmichael, nephew of country music stars John Michael Montgomery and Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry, is about to blaze his own path in the country music scene.

Fresh off the release of his debut album, “Hell On An Angel,” Carmichael has been announced as the opening act for the July 13 Farm-City Days Summer Concert at Riverside Park.

Gates open at 6:30 p.m., with Carmichael kicking off the event at 7:30 with headliner Darryl Worley following.

Early bird tickets sell for $17 apiece via farmcitydays.com and at local retail outlets. Ticket prices will increase to $28 apiece on May 1.

Produced by Dave Cobb, the studio guru behind other recording artists Chris Stapleton and Zac Brown Band, “Hell On An Angel” has landed Carmichael on several artists-to-watch lists from Billboard, Rolling Stone, Pandora and Taste of Country. His debut single, “Dancing Away With My Heart,” reached No. 2 on Country Radio’s Most Added chart.

Carmichael has since been tapped to open for Aaron Lewis, Dwight Yoakam, Trace Adkins, The Cadillac Three and A Thousand Horses, among others.

The New York Times compared Carmichael to Randy Travis, saying his rich baritone voice “moves with the heft and certainty of a tractor-trailer.”
