The Iola Elks Lodge will celebrate Independence Day with another elaborate fireworks show Thursday evening at Elks Lake.
The display begins at dusk at Elks Lake, but gates open at noon for those wanting to take a dip in the swimming area to stay cool.
Other activities that are normally a part of the proceedings, including a fishing derby for youth and a carp fishing derby for adults, have been postponed due to high water levels at the lake.
Those events will be rescheduled, organizers said.
