Daylight Donuts reopens

New owners of Daylight Donuts have reopened the pastry shop in east Iola. The new owners have moved to Iola from Minnesota and are looking for a new home for their family.

Iola’s Daylight Donuts is back in business, with new owners ready to serve up piping hot sweet pastries.

Thursday morning’s selection featured a dazzling array of colors and flavors, along with a spruced-up interior.

New owners Mara Eung and Malin Oun have moved from Shakopee, Minn., and are looking for a new home for their family, which includes two young daughters.

The crew handling the opening day crowd was Mara Eung, Malin Oun, Malis Oun, Chanmony Oun and Sam Chit. Chit owns a Daylight Donuts location in Fort Scott.

“We’re so excited,” said Eung. “We’re happy to be here and want to become friends with our new community.”

Daylight Donuts, located at 1319 East Street in Iola, is open from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.
