Republicans in Allen Countys Second District will gather Aug. 14 to select a replacement for Tom Williams, who is resigning his County Commission seat. Williams is resigning in order to take a job with the Kansas Attorney Generals Office in Topeka. The Second District covers much of the northern half of Allen County as well as Gas, LaHarpe and a portion of east Iola. The 6 p.m. meeting will be in the Allen County Courthouse basement meeting room. The public is invited.
