Iola City Council members will meet in a special session Monday to discuss the sales tax ordinance the city approved last year to support construction of a new Allen County Hospital.
The city provides a quarter-cent sales tax to help provide startup costs for the new hospital. The tax provides up to $350,000 annually.
The meeting is necessary to change the wording for the tax ordinance, according to City Clerk Roxanne Hutton.
The 6 p.m. meeting will be at the New Community Building at Riverside Park. Because it is classified as a special meeting, no other topics may be discussed. It will be open to the public.
