At a hastily called special session late Thursday afternoon, Allen County commissioners approved — contingent on review by County Counselor Alan Weber — a contract with Dan Ware of Superior Builders, Iola, for $74,375 to remodel the Heartland Rural Electric shop building, 412 N. State St.
The building will house county ambulances and crews, with anticipated occupancy about Aug. 1. Until then, ambulances will continue to be housed in rented space on the east edge of town.
