MORAN — A benefit concert and community talent night are planned for Oct. 27, to benefit USD 256 Superintendent of Schools Ken McWhirter and his wife, Connie.

Kenneth McWhirter has been sidelined for several months due to illness. Connie continues to battle cancer.

In addition to a chili dinner, the Marmaton Valley band and choir will provide live music for a community dance.

In addition to the talent show will be a hot dog eating contest.

Free-will donations will be accepted.

Those wishing to take part in the hot dog eating contest should call Janelle Allee by Monday to register, at [email protected], or by calling (620) 237-4251.

All ages are welcome.
