A late lineup change will take the inaugural Farm- City Days Summer Concert Series back to the 90s after supporting act Jack Ingram dropped out.
Instead, a two-for-one replacement will bring country music singer Wade Hayes and the band Ricochet to the local music festival July 14. Headliner Frankie Ballard will still perform.
The event begins at 7 p.m. at the Jumpstart Travel Center Stage at Davis Athletic Fields, 520 W. Scott, Iola.
Advance ticket sales have been underway for weeks at a discount. Tickets will remain available for $30 until July 13; theyll be $40 at the gate.
FCD organizers announced the change Friday afternoon, citing unforeseeable issues and circumstances not within our control.
Hayes made his debut in 1994 with his Gold Certified Album, Old Enough to Know Better. The title track on the album reached Billboard No. 1; several other singles reached the Billboard Hot Country Top
10. After successfully battling stage 4 colon cancer, Hayes released his latest album in 2017 showing off his singer/songwriter roots and that traditional country voice.
Ricochet is another country music band that enjoyed worldwide success with their self-titled, Certified Gold Album released in 1996. The album remained on the Top Country Albums charts for more than a year, producing three Top 10 singles. Ricochets debut single, What Do I Know, was the highest charting debut single of the year and rose to No. 3 on the charts. Ricochet was named the ACM Top New Vocal Group of the Year in 1997.
