HUTCHINSON Matthew Glenn Percy graduated from Hutchinson Community College with an associate of science degree May 11 as a member of Phi Theta Kappa and as a recipient of the Honors Program Graduate Medal.
Percy earned All-Jayhawk Conference first team honors for golf.
His original plan to continue his studies at Park University took a detour following Percys career best 5-under 67 on the first day of the NJCAA Division I Mens Golf Championships in Lubbock, Texas, May
12.
His performance earned Percy a number of scholarship offers from other universities, so he expects to decide soon which school to attend.
Matt is the son of Lynn Percy, Ottawa, and Mark and Trina Percy, Iola.
Hes the grandson of Iolan Jeanne Ann Percy and the late Glenn Percy, who mentored Matt in golf when Matt was 3.
