11U Baseball: USSSA All-American Team
On June 12, Korbin Cloud, 11, of Iola was selected for the USSSA 11 and under All-American team for the central region.
The team was hand-selected from professional scouts and former high-level baseball players. USSSA breaks down the country by region and holds 24 tryouts across the country from February through June. Tryouts for the central region team were held in Kansas City, Des Moines and Minneapolis. Out of those three tryouts, USSSA selected only 25 kids out of the 65 that were trying out.
Cloud was tested in every aspect of the game including throwing velocity timed by a radar gun, fastest 60-yard dash time, fielding, hitting and accuracy of throws. He placed in the top eight in pitching velocity and top five in the 60-yard dash.
The team will compete in Melbourne, Florida from August 4-11 against top competition from around the country at USSSA Space Coast Stadium.
