First Baptist Church, Iola, is celebrating a milestone birthday. In honor of the church’s 155 year birthday the church is giving back to the community.
There will be a free car wash at the church from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Donations will not be accepted.
On Aug. 22 contemporary Christian band MIKES-CHAIR will perform at the church at 7 p.m. The concert is free to the public.
MIKESCHAIR has been nominated for 12 Dove Awards and is on Christian radio stations.
Kristina Palmer said tickets are free but advance tickets are required due to limited space. A donation of any amount of non-perishable foods on the night of the concert to be given to the Iola Area Ministerial Alliance food pantry is appreciated.
Tickets can be reserved by calling the church at 365-2779 or on the church’s website, fbciola.org. Tickets may be picked up starting Wednesday at the church office from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Tickets must be picked up at the church office by Aug. 14.
