A traffic chase through Iola early Saturday afternoon led to the arrests of four Iolans, Iola Police Chief Jared Warner reported.
The chase started on South State Street after police officers spotted one of the passengers with an active arrest warrant and attempted to stop the vehicle.
The vehicle did not stop, however, and a chase ensued through downtown Iola.
The suspect drove from State onto Madison Avenue, south onto Washington Avenue, and eventually through south Iola to Nevada and then Nebraska roads.
The vehicle stopped at 2200 Street and Nebraska Road.
Speeds were kept to relatively slow speeds, rarely exceeding 30 mph in town and 50 mph out in the country, Warner said.
Arrested were the driver, Alexander Williams, 35, and passengers Levi Boan, 27, (whom officers spotted in the car to prompt the traffic stop), Natasha Ellis-Boan, 24, and Taylor Evans, 23.
Officers are requesting charges against Williams of fleeing and eluding, obstructing apprehension of prosecution, possessing a firearm as a felon, distributing illegal drugs, driving while impaired, driving while suspended and possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Officers are requesting Levi Boan be charged with distributing illegal drugs and possessing drug paraphernalia and criminal use of a weapon, as well as probation revocation related to his arrest warrant.
Natasha Ellis-Boan faces charges of distributing illegal drugs, possessing drug paraphernalia and obstructing apprehension of prosecution.
Officers are requesting Evans be charged with possessing drug paraphernalia.
The Allen County Sheriffs Department assisted with the pursuit. Officials with the State Fire Marshals Office also assisted, Warner said.
Information regarding the stop is being forwarded to Allen County Attorney Jerry Hathaway, who will determine what charges to file.
