Sheriff Tom Williams said charges likely would be filed against one or more people involved in a traffic accident early Jan. 13 east of LaHarpe that killed Jason Lewis, 32, Bronson.
“We’re continuing to investigate the accident and have more interviews to do,” Williams said.
Charges will be decided when the investigation is concluded.
Lewis was driving a pickup truck that went out of control and rolled east of the Allen County Landfill corner. He was thrown from the truck. Two passengers, Tammy Ulery, 36, Gas, and Nicholas Wynn, 32, Bronson, suffered minor injuries.
After the accident Mike Folk, a friend who lives at the southeast edge of Iola, was summoned. Lewis and the passengers were loaded into Folk’s vehicle. Ulery was let off in Gas and the others went to Allen County Hospital, where Lewis was pronounced dead.
