Iola High School Principal Scott Crenshaw is leaving at the end of the year to serve as superintendent in another district, the school board announced Monday night.
Assistant Principal Scott Carson will take over as IHS principal.
Crenshaw joined the district five years ago, two years as the assistant principal and the past three as principal. He will become superintendent of USD 298, in Lincoln.
Crenshaw said he appreciates the support of faculty and staff, especially on efforts to improve the Career and Technical Education program.
We had a lot of common goals and made some great strides in the last couple of years, he said.
Carson has served as assistant principal for three years. He previously worked as a math teacher at Labette County High School.
Im very excited but I hate to see Mr. Crenshaw leave, Carson said. When I first got hired, Mr. Crenshaw said he wanted us to be like co-principals. Hes been very helpful.
