BRONSON The 81st Bronson High School alumni reunion was at the Bronson Community Center May 26.
President Allen Warren welcomed 67 alumni and guests. He led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Vice President Rex Wilson gave the invocation.
Following the meal Lloyd Houk entertained with music and commentary including God Bless the USA, in honor of all veterans, and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Representing the Hall of Fame Induction Committee, Janice Leadstrom Olson announced the 2018 inductees: Helen Clark Bolling, Class of 1960, and Dean Pratt, Class of 1947. Both were recognized for their community service.
Rex Wilson led the memorial service for alumni deceased since the last reunion: James E. Keith, Jon S. Lawry, George R. Stradley, Vera Woodcock Black, Robert J. Nickelson, Bessie Lucas Mathews and Linda Ford Robishaw.
Secretary/Corresponding Secretary Judy Johnson Wilson read the 2017 minutes. Treasurer Jackie Mc-Climans Warren gave the Treasurers Report. Allen Warren shared an update on the BHS Alumni Scholarship at Fort Scott Community College. $1,500 scholarships were awarded to Morgan Gates and Casandra Gates.
A motion to give $200 to the Bronson High School Scholarship Endowment Fund was approved.
Officers for 2019 will be Rex Wilson, president; John Shelton, vice president; Judy Wilson, secretary/corresponding secretary; and Jackie Warren, treasurer.
Special recognition was given to members of the 75-year reunion for the Class of 1943. Attending were Clair Duggan and his guest, Kelli Gichurceh, Andover, and Kathryn Danielson Pitts, Tatum, N.M. Attending with her were family members Cheryl Ann Lair, Houston, Texas, Patty Meek, Weatherford, Texas, Glenda Armstrong, Liberal, and James and Saing Pitts, Piedmont, Okla.
