American Choppers comes to Garnett
GARNETT A motorcycle built to promote ethanol use in motorcycles brought a crowd of more than 500 to the East Kansas Agri Energy ethanol plant Saturday for a television show, The Anderson County Review reported. A rebooted version of the American Choppers television show, starring Paul Teutul Jr., premiers in May and the episode likely will appear in June or July. The motorcycle was designed and built for the Renewable Fuels Association and was unveiled at the ethanol plant.
Neosho County official to retire
ERIE Neosho Countys emergency management director, Byron Shutlz, will retire July 1 after 34 years in law enforcement, The Chanute Tribune reported. Shultz will take a full-time position in security for Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. He started with the Neosho County Sheriffs Office in 1984 and worked for the Erie Police Department and as head of the 911 department before he became emergency management director in 2007.
City to review building codes
GARNETT A plan to update the City of Garnetts building codes could lead to lower insurance premiums for property owners, The Anderson County Review reported. The city ranked low in a recent survey by the Insurance Services Office, Inc., which supplies actuarial analysis for property insurance companies in the U.S.
