The fastest way to put a damper on the holidays is to prepare a subpar meal. And if kitchen appliances aren’t up to snuff, that can easily happen, said Flynn Appliance manager Mandy Middleton.
So to help bring a smooth holiday to the southeast Kansas area, Flynn Appliance has a wide range of kitchen tools like range-top ovens and stoves and refrigerators available.
“We also do a lot service for ranges this time of year,” Middleton said. “There are not a lot of service companies out there anymore so people come to us. The week before Thanksgiving, we could hardly keep up.”
Flynn repairmen will travel as far as Yates Center and Erie to service appliances.
For those with ailing appliances beyond the point of repair, Flynn will finance the purchase of brand new equipment.
And the hoops people have to jump through to qualify are non-existent, Middleton said. Without a credit-check requirement, the store is able to finance customers through “the bank of Thurman” — Thurman Flynn is the store owner — with a 1.5 percent interest rate, she said.
The flat-screen television sets hanging on Flynn’s walls, though they don’t have much impact on the holiday meal, can also spruce up a festive get together. Throughout the Christmas season, anyone who buys an LG flat-screen TV for $1,000 or more can also purchase an LG Blu-Ray for $49.99.
“These Blu-Ray players are normally about $150,” Middleton said.
An additional perk to buying entertainment items from Flynn’s: Store employees will swim through the wires, customers don’t have to. Middleton said often time people hold off on buying news TVs and entertainment appliance solely because connecting the right wires to the right inputs can be a challenge. But the Flynn staff will gladly go to a customers home and deal with that mess for them.
“We get a lot of older people who really like that service,” she said.
Flynn Appliance store hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
