Daryl D. Alquist, Erie, was appointed as a 31st District Court judge Thursday morning by Gov. Sam Brownback.
Alquist is a 1979 graduate of Washburn University School of Law. He has been engaged in a general private practice in Erie for more than 30 years. He also has served as city attorney for Erie and Thayer for many years.
Other nominees considered for the appointment were Chuck Apt, Iola, and Curtis Bolt, Chanute.
Alquist replaces Judge Timothy E. Brazil, who retired in April.
