Ten Allen County 4-H members exhibited in the Kansas Junior Livestock Show in Hutchinson Oct. 5-7. There were over 1,500 entries exhibited during this three-day show held at the Kansas State Fairgrounds. There were 103 steers, 313 heifers, 137 barrows, 207 gilts, 244 lambs, 69 registered ewes, 154 commercial ewes, 202 goats, and 134 does exhibited during the 86th annual event.
Class results from the county were: Carson Keller Supreme Champion Ewe and 1st place Hampshire Ewe; Speckleface Lamb 3rd and Blackface Lamb 2nd in class; Meat Goat 2nd in class and 4th Overall Intermediate Goat Showman. Jillian Keller Grand Champion Market Lamb; Blackface Lamb, 2nd; Commercial Ewe 1st and Commercial Ewe 1st place in class; Meat Goat 3rd and Jillian was named 4th Overall Meat Goat Showman. Carly Dreher Duroc gilt 1st and Commercial Gilt 1st in class. Carly was also the 3rd Overall Intermediate Swine Showman. Leah Mueller Meat Goat Doe 5th and Meat Goat 9th in class. Thatcher Mueller Meat Goat Doe 7th and Meat Goat 8th in class. Gabby Sharp Dorset Market Lamb 7th in class. Julianna Sprague Supreme Meat Goat Doe and Meat Goat Doe 3rd in class. Shelby Sprague Meat Goat Doe 1st and Meat Goat Doe 1st in class and Shelby was the 3rd Overall Junior Meat Goat Showman. Kyser Nemecek Champion Duroc Market Hog and this barrow was 4th Overall Market Hog; Champion Light Crossbred Market Hog; Reserve Intermediate Swine Showman; Commercial Breeding Gilt, 2nd in class; Meat Goat 3rd in class. Brody Nemecek Reserve Senior Meat Goat Showman; Reserve Senior Swine Showman; 5th Overall Meat Goat; Hampshire Market Hog 3rd in class; Reserve Dark Crossbred Market Hog and this barrow was 3rd Overall Market Hog; Reserve Senior LEAD Challenge.
