Advance voting will begin Oct. 13 for those wishing to vote early in the Nov. 2 general election.
Local voters will have a number of issues to decide, including whether to support a quarter-cent countywide sales tax, which would help fund construction and operations of a new hospital; whether Iola’s next governing body is a five-member city commission or a nine-member city council; Dick Works’ seat on the Allen County Commission; as well as statewide races for governor, secretary of state and attorney general.
Kansans also will vote on proposed amendments to the State Constitution regarding gun ownership and the rights of mentally challenged persons to vote in elections.
Those who have not registered to vote can do so until Oct. 18.
