Going clockwise, the exhibition hall was replete with produce at Saturday’s Kincaid Farmers Free Fair. Larry Manes advertised efforts in Moran to create a cooperative to own and manage Stub’s Market. Jewel Armstrong, daughter of Mike and Jennifer Jewel and a junior at Crest High School, was crowned fair queen. A 1942 Ford pickup truck, extensively tricked out by Paul Smith, Nevada, Mo., drew its fair share of onlookers. A float extolling the military prowess of the Donaldson family and fitting the parade’s patriotic theme was the winning entry.
