Parents who missed today’s school district enrollment and dental screening have another chance Thursday for their children to receive a free dental health checkup and school supplies for the coming year.
Angela Henry, director of USD 257’s SAFE BASE program, noted that all students — preschool through grade 12 — who come to the screenings will receive toothbrush, toothpaste and school supplies appropriate to their grade level, including spiral notebooks, folders, looseleaf paper, pens, rulers and markers.
In Iola, the enroll-ment/screening runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Iola High School commons area.
Moran students can sign up and be checked from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Marmaton Valley High School commons.
USD 258 students in all grade levels enroll Aug. 11 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Aug. 12 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Humboldt Elementary Charter School.
This is the sixth year that SAFE BASE has sponsored the free clinics, Henry said.
