USSSA 11U Baseball: Humboldt Cubs

The Humboldt Cubs 11U baseball team competed in the Father’s Day Classic over the weekend. The team went 5-0 and won their age division of the tournament.

On Saturday, the team played at Heritage Park in Olathe for pool play. They faced the Vipers of Olathe to open things up, winning 11-3. In their second game of the night they faced the Gardner Braves and won 12-4. On Sunday, they went in to bracket play as the number one seed at Celebration Park in Gardner.

Starting at 10 a.m., the Cubs faced the Natural Baseball Academy and won 12-5. Next, they faced the Aces of Overland Park, winning 8-4 despite heat advisory temperatures in the afternoon. For the championship game, Humboldt once again battled the Gardner Braves and won 15-14.

This tournament win brings the Cubs’ current record to 17-2-1 for the 2018 season.
