Meadowview Gardens, Bates City, Mo., was the 6:30 p.m. June 19 setting for the wedding of Candace Shaw, Lee’s Summitt, Mo., and J.D. McRae, Iola. The Rev. Ed Bell of Blue Springs, Mo., performed the ceremony.
The couple are the children of John Shaw and Penny Shaw, Lee’s Summitt, and John and Merryl McRae, Iola.
Kristen Hicks, Troy, Mo., served as matron of honor, and Megan Dieckmann, Lee’s Summitt, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were JoAnn McRae and Connie McRae Ochs, Overland Park, Katie Miller, Pleasant Hill, Mo., and Kristy Pellegrino, Lee’s Summitt.
Scott Strickler, Prairie Village, was best man. Groomsmen were Ryan Coffield, Devil’s Lake, N.D., Mark Hayes, Atlanta, Ga., Brad Ochs, Overland Park, Michael Garcia, Kansas City, Mo., and Kyle McGrath, Los Angeles, Calif.
Mrs. McRae graduated from University of Central Missouri in May 2008 with a degree in graphic design. She is employed by Community National Bank in Iola as a credit analyst. Mr. McRae graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in psychology. He is employed by Gates Corporation in Iola as an international accounts supervisor.
Following a honeymoon to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple are at home in Iola.
