If USD 257 voters approve a new elementary school, the districts property tax levy (currently at 43 mills) would increase to about 58; adding a science building at Iola High School and HVAC project at Iola Middle School would tack on about 6 additional mills.
An article in Wendesdays Register incorrectly calculated what the new mill levy would be. We regret the error.
