The Prairie Dell 4-H Club met on Aug. 9, at Heartland Meadows for its annual project tour.

Lainey Church led the club and the residents in singing “If You’re Happy and You Know It” as well as in saying the  Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge.

Roll call, what ribbons you received at the fair, was answered by the members.

For the program, members showed their projects to the residents. Lainey Church showed her two art projects and gave a short talk about her baking project. Luke Wicoff showed his baked goods, and his dried mint.  Luke also showed his photos, which he took in Italy this summer. The residents enjoyed getting to see the projects.

After reports of officers, Luke Wicoff gave the parliamentary report, which was about why we do club tours.

In new business, the club decided to help Heartland decorate its van for the Iola Veterans Day Parade in November, and to walk next to the van in the parade.

Club members decided to attend Lainey Church’s church in Kincaid for 4-H Sunday.

Luke Wicoff will set up the club display for 4-H Week in October.

For recreation, the club went on a tour of the farm animals that Heartland Meadows has, looking at the chickens and petting the goats.

The next meeting will be Monday, Sept. 6 at 8 p.m. at Riverside Park Community Building.  Lainey Church will give a talk.
