Road rage reported
Allen County sheriff’s deputies investigated a reported case of road rage Wednesday in which a man reportedly brandished a gun at another driver on U.S. 169, two miles north of Iola.
The vehicle was stopped near Welda by Allen County sheriff’s deputies.
The driver, a 68-year-old man from Chanute, told deputies he felt the other car was trying to run him off the road.
Meanwhile, the reporting party told deputies he repeatedly attempted to pass the other vehicle, and it would speed up and, once, moved into the left lane to block him.
Semi hit
On March 23, Brandon Thompson of Florida told deputies he was driving a semi south on U.S. 169 and his windshield was broken by a baseball thrown from a northbound vehicle.
No suspects have been located.
Foul fruit
A deputy seized a pineapple reportedly used to smoke drugs following an early morning Sunday traffic stop on U.S. 169 a mile south of Iola.
The vehicle’s driver, stopped for speeding, was cited for speeding and driving against license restrictions.
The possessor of the pineapple is a minor, deputies said. A report has been forwarded to the Allen County Attorney’s Office for charging considerations.
