Stolen vehicle found burned

Sarah Chard, Moran, reported her Toyota 4Runner was stolen on Sunday. It was found abandoned and damaged Tuesday at the Moran City Park, with the vehicle’s interior burned.

An investigation is ongoing.

Fraud reported

A 71-year-old man from Hays contacted the Allen County Sheriff’s Office and reported that he had received an overdue gas bill for a property in rural Iola.

The owner of the property and the utility company were contacted and it was found that an unknown person had fraudulently changed the billing information for unknown reasons.

Theft from mail

Mail was reported stolen from an address on Canary Lane in the Iola Burris addition. A debit card was taken and over $600 in illicit purchases were made.

A suspect has been identified.

Man arrested at courthouse

After being observed by a deputy, Cristofer J. Holland, 30, Kansas City, was arrested on March 17 on the lower level of the Allen County Courthouse on suspicion of violating a protection order.  He was also charged with violating the Registered Offender Act.

Drugs suspected

Allen County deputies crossed paths this week with two 16-year-olds at the Twin Trestles junction south of Carlyle, whom they believed to have consumed alcohol.

The deputies reported finding what they believe is marijuana and drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

A report will be forwarded to the Allen County Attorney’s office for potential charges.
