Cyclist injured in crash

Jillian M. Ward was injured when the bicycle she was riding collided with a car driven by Carolyn Whitcomb in Iola Aug. 28.

Iola police officers said Ward was westbound on East Street when she struck a southbound car driven by Whitcomb.

Ward was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel, officers said. Whitcomb was not injured.

Arrests reported

Iola police officers arrested April Morrison for suspicion of domestic battery Sunday evening in the 500 block of Eisenhower Drive.

Nicholas Wanner, Chanute, was arrested Saturday evening in the 500 block of South Street after Iola officers discovered he was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Tires slashed

Tessa Reynard told Iola officers Saturday morning her tires had been slashed in the 300 block of Eisenhower Drive.

Correction

An article in the Aug. 31 Register incorrectly reported Denise East struck a pickup driven by Gerald Kimball as he was pulling away from an intersection of Lincoln and Cottonwood streets. The roles were reversed, according to police reports, as Kimball struck the rear of East’s vehicle.

The Register regrets the error.
