Accidents

On July 15, a vehicle driven by Jimmie L. Tarter, pulled into a parking stall at Pete’s convenience store and was struck by the door of a vehicle as it opened.

On July 13, a vehicle driven by Megan D. Phillips turned into a vehicle driven by Torrie A. Maley as both were heading north in the 300 block of State Street. 

On July 10, a vehicle driven by Linus Waldman hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and struck the Pete’s convenience store building. 

Arrests

On July 11, Annie J. Tush, 37, Pittsburg, was booked into jail by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of domestic battery.

On July 11, Mason J. Crane, 22, Overland Park, was booked into jail by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of DUI and interference with a law enforcement officer.

On July 11, Nathan L. Hawley, 26, Leavenworth, was booked into jail by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of transporting an open container and interference with a law enforcement officer.

On July 12, Brandon L. Schlichting, 28, Chanute was booked into jail by the Kansas Highway Patrol on suspicion of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, interference with a law enforcement officer, possession of stolen property, driving without a license, and illegal registration.

On July 12, Virgil G. Wertz, 64, Iola, was booked into jail by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jeremiah R. Guill, 32, Garnett, was booked into jail by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On July 13, Daquarion A. Banks, 25, Iola, was booked into jail by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of burglary, theft, possession of stolen property, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Banks was also booked in on a Coffey County warrant alleging failure to appear related to charges of failure to report an accident, no insurance, and illegal registration.

On July 13, Kimberly S. Nevius, 51, Iola, was booked into jail by Iola Police on suspicion of domestic battery and criminal dDamage.

On July 14, Michael E. McKinsey, 43 Chanute, was booked into jail by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant alleging failure to appear related to a charge of permitting a dangerous animal to be at large. McKinsey was also booked into jail on a Linn County warrant alleging failure to appear related to a disorderly conduct charge.

On July 14, Blade T. Marmon, 23, Iola, was booked into jail by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office on an Anderson County warrant alleging failure to appear related to charges of burglary, theft, and criminal damage.
