Arrests

On Aug. 10, Jermey Shultz, 31, of Iola, was arrested by Iola Police on suspicion of criminal damage to property and criminal trespass after a report of a break-in in the 400 block of South Sycamore Street. Melissa Spease and StevenYates of Iola also were arrested on suspicion of criminal trespass.

Incidents

On Aug. 15, Melissa Spease, 29, of Iola, was cited for lewd and lascivious behavior in the 200 block of North Washington Ave.

Accidents

On Aug. 10, a vehicle driven by Sandra L. Simeon backed into a yard and struck a gas meter in the 700 block of North Walnut Street.

On Aug. 9, a vehicle driven by James A. Snavely struck the overhang of City Hall’s drive-thru at North Street and West Jackson Avenue.

On July 2, an unknown vehicle backed into the Machine Shed parking lot and struck a parked vehicle owned by Jeffrey A. Falk. The incident was reported Aug. 4.

On Aug. 4, a vehicle driven by Matthias T. Hirt was headed south on State Street and struck the back of a stopped vehicle driven by Helen L. Uitts, who was waiting to turn onto West Monroe Street. 

On Aug. 2, Karyssa L. Bruner was driving a vehicle into an alley near the 1200 block of North Sycamore Street and struck a parked utility trailer owned by William J. Hobbs.

On July 31, a vehicle driven by Quentin R.L. Sutterby backed out of a parking stall at Jump Start on East Street and struck a vehicle driven by Ricky E. Keeler.

On July 28, a westbound vehicle driven by Roger J. Madl failed to yield at a red light at Buckeye Street and U.S. 54, and struck a northbound vehicle driven by Darci M. Lisher.
