Arrests reported
Iola police officers arrested Paul Paredes, 39, for illegal drug possession Sunday afternoon during a traffic stop in the 1800 block of East Street.
On Friday, officers arrested Scott Smail for suspicion of distributing methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia. Smail also was wanted on two other warrants, officers said.
Officers arrested Riley Ridout for suspicion of driving as a habitual violator and fleeing and eluding law enforcement Friday in the 200 block of South Oak Street.
Harvey Burris Jr., Iola, was arrested by IPD April 12 for suspicion of domestic battery in the 1900 block of North State Street.
A traffic stop on April 12 at the intersection of State and West streets led to the arrest of Stephanie Russell for suspicion of driving while suspended, officers reported.
Vehicles collide
Micah T. Sneed was southbound on Colborn Street Thursday when the pickup he was driving collided with an eastbound car driven by Kobe M. Lord. Lord’s car spun around and struck a westbound car driven by Kenneth R. Jones, Iola police officers said.
None of the drivers were injured.
Also Thursday, Wayne E. Whitcomb was backing from a parking stall on Jefferson Avenue around the square when his pickup hit a car driven by Harold R. Hoffman, who was northbound.
Hoffman suffered possible injuries, officers reported.
