Bike stolen

Ronald D. Smith, 50, Iola, told officers Wednesday his bike was stolen from the 300 block of Eisenhower Drive. The black mountain bike had tape on the seat and headlight, officers said.

Minivan burns

Jozi L. Ljunggren, 56, escaped injury Monday when the minivan she was driving caught fire in Iola.

Ljunggren was eastbound on U.S. 54, just east of Kentucky Street, when she noticed smoke and flames coming from the engine compartment of her vehicle.

She exited the vehicle, which became quickly engulfed in flames shortly thereafter.
