Arrest made in stolen pickup case

Caedyn Hauge, 18, Iola, was arrested in connection with the theft of a pickup owned by Iolan Marv Smith June 23, Iola police officers reported Monday.

Smith’s 1971 Chevy pickup — he uses it almost exclusively for various Iola High School cross country events — was recovered later in the day in Prescott.

Officers are requesting Hauge be charged with burglary and theft.

Lori Cary, 35, Iola, was arrested Thursday night for suspicion of disorderly conduct after being spotted by Iola officers in the 300 block of South Elm Street.

 

Arrests reported

Iola police officers arrested Sara Gibbons, Iola, for suspicion of domestic battery Saturday in the 600 block of South Jefferson Avenue.

Matric Scott, 18, Iola, was arrested Friday morning for suspicion of two counts of burglary, felony interference with law enforcement and possessing alcohol as a minor after officers spotted him in the 600 block of North Oak Street.

 

Citation issued

Ronald Porter, 29, Iola, was cited Friday for suspicion of criminal damage to property and assault in the 1200 block of North Sycamore Street.

 

Thefts reported

Employees at Iola Senior Citizens Inc. told officers Saturday somebody entered the building in the 200 block of North State Street and removed items without permission.
