Carlyle Presbyterian Church

Pastor Steve Traw’s message Sunday, “Life Amid Three Worlds,” was taken from Luke 12:29-31, 34.

Myrna Wildschuetz played “God Understands My Tears” medley for her prelude. The Rev. Tom Bevard sang “The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power” accompanied by Myrna at the piano. The songs in the bulletin were taken from the list church members indicated were their favorite hymns.

The annual congregational/corporation meeting will follow the church fellowship dinner at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 20.

Bible study with Pastor Steve will on the book of Acts resumes at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Country Club

Co-hosting the recent Carlyle Ladies Country Club meeting for June O’Dell (who caught a bug and wasn’t able to attend) were Naomi Chambers and Joanne McIntyre. Others on hand were Alice Dowell, Pauli Hawk, Myrna Wildschuetz, Phyllis Loomis and Cheryl Klingensmith.

Cheryl won the door prize.

Pauli Hawk will host the February meeting.

Around town

An early 2019 Christmas celebration was held at the home of David and Phyllis Loomis.  Attending were Matt, Michelle and Maegan Loomis, Humboldt; Justin and Lisa Der, Nathaniel, Elias, Levi, Hudson, Johanna, Caleb, Esme’, Elena, and Zeb of Overland Park, and Chad and Jana Grisier, Jaylen, Emerson, Owen, Maryn, William, and Hazel Joy of Sapulpa, Okla. They were joined for lunch by Curtis Lambert, Zurich, who is in the U.S. after living abroad several years.
