MVHS forensics team are League champs

BUFFALO — Good things are coming in threes for Marmaton Valley High School’s Forensics team.

Marmaton Valley picked up its third consecutive Three Rivers League championship over the weekend in various competitive speaking and acting events.

Individually, MV students took first in six individual events and second in four others.

All students who place first or second have qualified to compete at the state Forensics tournament in Salina May 2.

Individual results follow:

Oral Interpretation of Prose: 3. Carissa Mattox, 5. Alexis Elam.

Oral Interpretation of Poetry: 2. Autumn Simpson, 3. Tea Smith.

Humorous Solo Acting: 2. Rachel Shaffer.

Serious Solo Acting: 1. Tea Smith, 5. Nate McAloon.

Duet Acting: 1. Bailey LaRue and Roslyn Houk.

Impromptu Speaking: 1. Rachel Shaffer, 2. Allison Heim, 4. Nate McAloon, 5. Braden Allison.
