On Sept. 5, 1954, Melvin Price and Mary Ellen Stewart Price were united in marriage at Xenia Baptist Church in Xenia.
Their children are hosting a celebration in honor of their 65 years of marriage from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 31 in the Riverside Park Community Building in Iola.
All friends and family are invited. The couple requests no gifts.
Melvin and Mary Ellens union was blessed with three children, Ralene Davis and husband Mark, David Price and wife Holly and Bonnie Powell. They have 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
