Southwind Extension District 4-H members from Allen County competed Aug. 14, in the State Horticulture Judging Contest at Throckmorton Hall on the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan.
They had to identify 50 different plants, place eight different categories of plants on quality, and were tested on their knowledge on various aspects of plant science.
There were 53 youth competing in the competition.
Representing Southwind Extension District were Carly Kramer and Henry Kramer. Accompanying them was their coach, Terri Kretzmeier.
Kramer placed 6th in the intermediate division.
