PITTSBURG — Marmaton Valley High School senior math students attended Math Honor Day at Pittsburg State University Oct. 7.
Students attended three breakout sessions that helped teach math in different ways.
Pittsburg State professors led the sessions, “Math Magic,” utilizing decks of cards; “Game of Set” to discuss odds and probability; and “Math in CGI” and Disney animations.
The students also listened to guest speaker Stephanie Lowry, a former PSU math student.
“It was a fun day to spend with seniors doing and seeing math in a different light,” instructor Kelci Botts said.
