Lauren Porter, Iola, and Jordan Hughes, Yates Center, were married at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at St. Agnes Catholic Parish in Roeland Park. The bride’s uncle, Father Bill Porter, was the officiant.
Lauren is the daughter of Dr. Frank and Robyn Porter of Iola. She is the granddaughter of Mary Osborn, Iola, and Bev Hill and the late R.W. Hill, Jr., Claremore, Okla. Lauren is in her third year of study at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bud and Belinda Hughes, Yates Center. He is the grandson of Ann Hayes, Reedsport, Ore., and the late Louis and Carrie Hoag, Yates Center. Jordan graduated from Pittsburg State University with a degree in plastics engineering and is a project engineer at Polytainers, Inc. in Lee’s Summit, Mo.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Alex Porter, brother of the bride, served as man of honor. The bride’s attendants were her brothers, Christopher Porter and Dylan Porter and her friend Annie Roberts. The bride’s sisters-in-law, Erin Murphy and Lindsay Pericich, served as readers.
Jacob Lenard, friend of the groom, was best man. The groom’s attendants were Addie Hughes, sister of the groom, and Brent Matile and Joe Tressler, friends of the groom.
The couple honeymooned in Nassau, Bahamas and will reside in Prairie Village with their two dogs, Carter and Gus.
