Kenna Michelle Thompson and Mark Edwards Chesnut, Springfield, Mo., are happy to announce their engagement to be married. The couple will unite in marriage on May 16, 2014 at The Barn at Timber Cove in Pittsburg.
Kenna is the daughter of Kent and Susan Thompson of rural LaHarpe. She is the granddaughter of Leon Thompson, rural Iola, and the late Judy Thompson, Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Marilyn Wade and the late James Wade, Pittsburg.
Kenna graduated from Iola High School in 2008, received her bachelor’s degree in business management from Pittsburg State University in 2012, and her master’s degree in business administration from PSU in 2013. She works as an admissions representative and adjunct faculty member for Bryan University in Springfield.
Mark is the son of the Honorable Charles Chesnut and Dr. Shirley Murphy Chesnut, Miami, Okla. He is the grandson of the late Charles Chesnut and Mary Chesnut, Miami, Okla., and Peggy Murphy and the late Robert Murphy, Stillwater, Okla.
He graduated from Miami High School in 2006, received his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Oklahoma State University in 2009, master’s degree in business administration from Pittsburg State University in 2011 and a master’s degree in psychology from PSU later in 2014. Mark is currently employed as a project manager for Builders Rebar in Strafford, Mo.
