Kappa Alpha talks fundraisers

The Kappa Alpha chapter of Phi Tau Omega Sorority business meeting was held Monday, with 18 members in attenance at Community National Bank. Rhodenia Rowe and Gwen Teft hosted the business meeting.

The Trunks of Treasure sale was held Saturday at the old Country Mart parking lot. Proceeds from the sale will go to assisting local cancer patients with gas cards to help with travel expenses.

Members discussed plans for a Farm-City Days foot booth. The planning committee will finalize details.

Kappa Alpha’s will collect pop tabs, G&W receipts and hygiene items for the chapter’s philanthropic projects this year.

Members of the sorority, will serve dinner to the Gideon organization Saturday.

This month’s social will be at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at the courthouse bandstand, with Jolene Boeken, Rhodenia Rowe and Lucinda Stanley hosting.

Kappa Alpha’s next business meeting will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 7 at Community National Bank.
