PITTSBURG Sixteen students from McCollam Piano Studio in Iola participated in the annual Mid-America Music Festival at Pittsburg State University Saturday.
Students earning a I rating for their piano solos were Piper Weilert, Milo Franklin, Libby Maier, Kennedy Maier, Eli Dunne, Makayla Dunne, William Toland, Caroline Toland, Kinsey Jelinek, Mariah Jelinek, Asher Arnold, Kale Godfrey, Jenna Morrison, Miah Shelby and Jesse Taylor.
Jorja Murcko received a II on her piano solo.
VIOLIN students of Betty Cunningham and Elizabeth Cunningham also participated in the music festival.
Earning a I rating and gold medal and certificate for their violin solos were Piper Weilert, Humboldt, Kinsey Jelinek, Caroline Toland and Keira Fawson, all of Iola. William Toland, Iola, received a II rating and silver medal.
A I rating is judged as excellent. A II rating is judged as good.
